Robert Bowen
GroundForce Martial Arts Academy was founded by Robert Bowen in 2010 after moving to the Sunshine Coast QLD from Wollongong NSW.
As a teacher, Rob bought his years of knowledge and experience and as a subject expert, he was able to help beginners learn and ultimately become knowledgeable in the various skills Rob instructed. Robs role as a coach was to refine and develop the skills of his members by adapting to the individual needs of the student.
Rob passed away unexpectedly in 2020, after a courageous battle with cancer. Rob was an inspirational and uncompromising coach who had produced many Australian and Australasian Kick Boxing champions before he turned his sharp focus to coaching Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Rob will always be remembered with deep admiration and heartfelt respect by those who were privileged to be coached by him. Robs legacy GroundForce, will certainly continue to grow and develop, forever striving to honor the standards and ethics that the Academy has been built upon. Robs actions and memory will always be revered at our Training Center.
RIP Robert Bowen you will always hold a special place in our hearts.
